What is coaching? Who is coaching for? Can I do this on my own? How would working with you as my coach make it different? What happens in the sessions? Why can’t my friends or family help in the same way? How does coaching work? How long does it take? How much does it cost? What is coaching? Coaching is a positive, confidence-boosting, action-based way of moving yourself forward to how, what, where and who you really want to be. Who is coaching for? People who genuinely want to make changes, become unstuck, take control, and improve themselves and their life. It is helpful for anyone who is ready to take their own responsibility for their future irrespective of age, gender, status, background or present situation. Can I do this on my own? If you love reading, are disciplined and motivated at all times, and need little personal encouragement or support, you will be able to go some way to help yourself, but working with a coach is empowering, enlightening, supportive and a great deal more effective in the long term. How would working with you as my coach make it different? I specialise in coaching people with life balance and health issues. Taking time out to work with me to find ways to feel better about yourself and be able to move forward is one of the most important decisions of your life! My experience and professional training enables you to investigate, explore positively and understand yourself in a new light, without fear, and with the greatest support at all times. What happens in the sessions? My role is to truly listen to what you are saying within the confidential safety and support of our professional coaching relationship. I concentrate on your agenda at all times, without judgement or criticism and guide you towards making the best decisions for yourself in accordance with what really matters to you and what you care about. Our coaching sessions are totally focused on your wants and needs. I help you to make connections, recognise and identify what you feel is your best way forward, and support you while your gain the confidence to put your plans into action. No self-help book can provide all this for you on such a personal level. Why can’t my friends or family help in the same way? Friends and family believe they know you really well. This may be far from the truth! They bring their own issues and agendas to any discussion. Some will actively discourage any of your possible changes because they feel (even subconsciously) that it may be a challenge to their own comfort zone. Your personal confidence and motivation is very fragile at such times. I can help you not only to understand and manage your own feelings, but also support you as you enable others to know the real you. How does coaching work? Together, communicating by phone, internet webcam, or face-to-face meeting, we discover what it is you really want or need to change, and we look at all the issues involved. We discuss the reality of your present situation, we explore all your options (some of which you may not have thought were possible) and work out an achievable plan of steps towards your self-identified goals. Then I continue to support you as you put those plans into action. You might even decide to branch off on to a different route altogether – that’s personal growth too! I’m here to look out for your holistic welfare wherever your journey takes you. How long does it take? The length of time you take to make your changes depends on many things including your circumstances, your present health, and how quickly or how slowly you want or need to work. You are in charge of the process! You and I will regularly check to see that your coaching needs are being met. You are certainly not expected to work with me for ever! My role is to enable you to feel confident in your own ability to make the very best decisions for yourself now and in the future. Some people choose to work with me for a few months (first at weekly intervals, then with a longer time between sessions). You are always in control of how much coaching you feel you need. It’s your coaching - you choose. How much does it cost? I could ask you how much is a better, happier, healthier life worth? On that basis, working with me is inexpensive and great value for money. My current session rate is £55 lasting up to an hour (first session is longer for no extra charge), and I have a scale of discounted charges based on 6, 8, 10 or 12 sessions. There are flexible ways to pay according to your need and our agreement together. Just speak to me about it. There are always ways round a problem!
